스탠션의 벨트에는 ‘INSIDE’와 ‘OUTSIDE’라는 단어가 서로 반대편에 표기되어 있다. 관람자는 스탠션을 자유롭게 이동시킬 수 있으며, 이 과정에서 안과 밖의 구분은 지속적으로 전도되거나 불안정해진다. 일반적으로 스탠션은 질서를 유지하고 이동의 흐름을 통제하는 장치이지만, 이 작업에서 그것은 더 이상 본래의 기능을 수행하지 않는다. 대신 관람자의 개입을 통해, 경계가 지닌 임의성과 가변성을 드러낸다. 이 작업은 일상과 예술, 흑과 백, 안과 밖, 중심과 주변, 거리와 갤러리, 사적 공간과 제도적 공간 사이에 존재하는 이분법적 구획에 균열을 만든다. 스탠션은 고정된 메시지를 전달하지 않으며, 관람자의 참여를 통해 경계는 끊임없이 이동하고, 흐려지며, 해체된다. 이 작업은 더 이상 작가에 의해 완결되지 않고, 관람자의 손을 통해 지속적으로 재구성된다. On the stanchion’s belt, the words “INSIDE” and “OUTSIDE” are inscribed on opposite sides. Viewers are free to move the stanchion, and through this process, the distinction between inside and outside is continuously inverted or destabilized. While the belt stanchion ordinarily functions to maintain order and control the flow of movement, in this context it no longer serves that role. Instead, through the viewer’s intervention, it reveals the arbitrariness and mutability of boundaries. It opens fissures in the binary divisions that exist between everyday life and art, black and white, inside and outside, center and margin, the street and the gallery, the domestic and the institutional. The stanchion does not deliver a fixed message; rather, through audience participation, boundaries are constantly shifting, blurred, and dismantled. The work is no longer completed by the artist, but is continuously reconfigured through the hands of the viewers.
