이 연작은 베트남의 영수증 위에 붉은 실로 별의 형태를 수놓은 작업으로 구성되어 있다. 영수증은 흔히 거래의 기록으로 인식되지만, 나는 이를 단순한 구매 증빙이 아닌 삶의 기록으로 바라본다. 그 안에는 어떠한 정치적 이념이나 갈등도 본래적으로 내재되어 있지 않다. 영수증의 앞면에는 별의 형태가 정돈된 상태로 드러나며, 질서와 완결성을 암시한다. 반면 뒷면에는 별을 가능하게 했던 실의 얽힘만이 남아 있다. 이 대비는 겉으로 드러난 질서와 그 이면에서 작동하는 보이지 않는 구조와 과정 사이의 긴장을 시각화한다. 이 작업은 삶 자체에 대한 은유이기도 하다. 삶은 표면적으로는 매끄럽고 정연해 보일 수 있지만, 그 전개는 수많은 보이지 않는 힘과 과정에 의해 지탱된다. 나는 이 연작을 통해 보이는 것과 보이지 않는 것, 결과와 과정 사이의 관계를 탐구하며, 우리의 일상적 존재를 형성하는 복합적인 메커니즘에 대한 사유를 제안하고자 한다. This series consists of Vietnamese receipts embroidered with red thread in the shape of stars. While a receipt may appear as a simple record of transactions, I regard it not merely as a proof of purchase but as a record of life. Within it, no political ideology or conflict is inherently present. On the front of each receipt, the stars are neatly arranged, conveying order and completion. In contrast, the reverse side reveals only the tangled threads that made the star possible. This contrast visualizes the tension between apparent order and the unseen structures and processes underlying it. The work also serves as a metaphor for life itself. Life may seem smooth and orderly on the surface, yet its unfolding relies on vast, invisible forces and processes. Through this series, I explore the relationship between what is visible and invisible, between result and process, inviting reflection on the complex mechanisms that shape our everyday existence.
